Longarm Quilting Services
I offer computerised edge to edge designs on my Handiquilter Inifinity 26 machine on a 14 ft frame so I have no problem managing your larger projects, I also offer hand guided custom quilting with my Handiquilter Amara 20 on a 12 ft frame. I have included some pictures of my custom work below. I have a passion for free motion quilting and ruler work and I would love to discuss your ideas on quilting, please get in touch with me - adelle@pearpawquilting.com or by using the contact form.

I stock some waddings and can provide costs for this if desired, if you are shipping your quilt and it would be easier for you to purchase wadding online I am happy for to you ship it directly to me to avoid additional costs for you.

As standard I use Glide 40 thread and would usually match bobbin to the top thread, this is included in the quilting cost. If you have a specific thread that you prefer please let me know. For a standard E2E computerised design the cost is £0.02 per square inch, for custom work the prices are variable depending on size/scale/density, please get in touch so that we can discuss.
I would typically be able to complete your quilt within 2 weeks at present.

Shipping
I am based in the Scottish Borders, if you are local to me I am happy to arrange to take delivery of your quilt, please get in touch to discuss. I am happy to accept quilts via a shipping method of your choice, shipping costs can be agreed prior to sending your precious project.
More detailed shipping options are included below.
If you are nervous about shipping your quilt I completely understand, when returning your precious quilt I include a stamped addressed envelope with a GPS tracker inside, in the unlikely event there is an issue with your quilt in transit it should provide us with an additional way to track it down. All I ask for this little bit of extra peace of mind is that you pop the envelope in the post box to return the tag once your quilt is safely received.
Payment
I will ask you to sign a quilt intake form (linked below) prior to sending your quilt which covers costs and services agreed. Once the project is complete I do appreciate prompt payment via bank transfer or PayPal.

This is a copy of my intake form for information, there is no pressure to complete it unless you have a burning desire!
Other Services
Binding
I can attach your binding to the front of your quilt if you wish at an additional cost depending on the size of your quilt, please get in touch to discuss. I am afraid I am not able to offer finishing of the binding. My standard is to attach using a 1/4" seam allowance and mitred corners, if you require anything different please let me know.
Basting
I can baste your quilt for you if you would like to quilt it yourself but need it to be stabilised. The costs of this will be reliant on the size of your quilt and the spacing/basting stitch you prefer. There is a minimum charge of £50 for this service. Please get in touch to discuss your preferences and cost.
Others
If there is anything you are looking for which has not been listed here please get in touch to discuss, if I can help I will!
Shipping Options
Prices shown are for the return shipping, I am happy to arrange a label and collection from your home to ship to me, in which case the costs would be doubled. There are other Royal Mail options if you have a preference or if you prefer a different courier please get in touch to discuss. These are the 2 main options I suggest depending on the level of insurance you feel most comfortable with.

Preparing Your Quilt
-
Please include backing and wadding (where applicable) that is at least 4" larger than your quilt top on all sides (8" total), this is necessary in loading the quilt to the frame and using side clamps which help to keep the quilt as square as possible. Squaring up the quilt top and backing fabric is much appreciated.
-
Trim your threads and press your seams as flat as possible. If you are planning stitch in the ditch do not press your seams open.
-
Please mark to top of your quilt top and backing fabric, it may well be obvious but it is best to avoid any potential mistakes!
-
If you need to join your backing please use a 1/2" seam and press it open. Wherever possible a seam on the backing fabric is best to run horizontal with the longarm frame to avoid a ridge forming when it is rolled on. The quilt top can be loaded right way up or sideways to accommodate for this but this also depends on the direction of the quilting motif.
-
If there is fullness in your quilt or borders I will do my very best to manage this and minimise the appearance, occasionally this will lead to puckers or pleats depending on the amount of fullness. I will be in touch to discuss how you would prefer this to look if this is the case.
-
I would strongly suggest putting your pretty fabric in a plastic bag before you package it all up just in case it were to encounter water during shipping.
-
Thank you! All of these make the process so much better and will give you an even more beautiful finished product.
